Paulius Andriuškevičius – event organizer, music educator, musicologist, composer.
He was born March 18, 1980 in Mažeikiai. In 1999 he graduated from Secondary School and Music School (Instrument – Piano) in Mažeikiai. In 2003 he finished Music Teacher Education program in Šiauliai University and received a BA in Music and Music Teacher Education. Moreover, he attended organist courses at the same university. In 2006 he finished Musicology program and received an MA in Art Criticism in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
During his studies in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre he worked as a background actor in Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and as a choir singer in Kaunas State Musical Theatre.
When Paulius Andriuškevičius graduated from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre he began his teaching career. He worked as a piano teacher in Art School for a year and was a teacher of Music Literature, Solfège and Harmony in Vilnius Choral Singing School for two years. He was a conductor of choir “Energetikas” and a choir of deportees in Elektrėnai Cultural Centre for 6 months. He organized Choral Music Festival “Žiburiai – 2006“ in Elektrėnai on December 2, 2006. The participants were 5 choirs from Lithuania.
Paulius Andriuškevičius wrote and published a book "Lietuvių muzikinės kultūros chronologinis žinynas: I dalis 1500 Lietuvos muzikų" [The Chronological Guide of Lithuanian Music Culture: Part I 1500 Lithuanian musicians]. The publishing expenses were partly covered by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. His upcoming book is “Senovės Graikijos muzikinė kultūra” [Music Culture of Ancient Greece] (It is going to be published in 2018). He has written several articles for Music Encyclopedia, newspapers and magazines. In his articles he usually covers choral music events (festivals) and Art Education.
